Rubio-led Resolution to Raise Awareness for Spinal Cord Injuries Passes Senate

Sep 27, 2023 | Press Releases

Approximately 302,000 Americans live with spinal cord injuries. To help these people achieve a better quality of life, there is a need to increase education and invest in research.

U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) successfully led a bipartisan resolution designating September 2023 as “National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month” to raise awareness and encourage further research to develop better treatments, therapies, and cures for spinal cord injuries.

The resolution states:

  • “The Senate commends the dedication of national, regional, and local organizations, researchers, doctors, volunteers, and people across the United States who are working to improve the quality of life for individuals living with spinal cord injuries.”
