Rubio, Scott Introduce Bill to Honor Florida Vietnam Veteran
U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rick Scott (R-FL) introduced a bill to rename the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center after Thomas H. Corey.
Thomas Corey was a medically retired combat veteran who resided near West Palm Beach following his service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, two Purple Hearts, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, a Valorous Unit Citation, the Republic Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Corey was also nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and is well-known for his long-time support for veterans in West Palm Beach. Thomas Corey founded the West Palm Beach Chapter 25 of the Vietnam Veterans of America in 1981.
