Washington, D.C. — At approximately 5:25pm EST today, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will go to the Senate floor with his colleagues to request that the Senate call up and pass his Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act (S. 1838). Rubio has led this bill since 2016, and reintroduced S. 1838 on June 13, 2019. On September 26, 2019, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations amended and unanimously approved the bipartisan measure.
