Rubio, Baldwin Introduce Resolution to Raise Awareness of Spinal Cord Injuries

Sep 27, 2024 | Press Releases

Approximately 306,000 Americans live with spinal cord injuries. More investment in research and education is needed to improve the quality of life of those living with spinal cord injuries.

U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) introduced a bipartisan resolution designating September 2024 as “National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month” to raise awareness and encourage the development of better treatments, therapies, and ultimately cure spinal cord injuries.

The resolution states:

  • “The Senate commends the dedication of national, regional, and local organizations, researchers, doctors, volunteers, and people across the United States who are working to improve the quality of life for individuals living with spinal cord injuries.”
