Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement today announcing his support for former Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) as America’s next secretary of energy:
“Under Rick Perry’s management, Texas improved its infrastructure, grew a significant number of new jobs, and helped make America less dependent on foreign energy. He has the experience and leadership the Department of Energy needs in the 21st century, and I am confident he will work diligently to support our military’s nuclear reactors, maintain and modernize our nuclear stockpiles, fortify our power grids, and implement a true ‘all of the above’ energy policy that encourages job creation and innovation and protects our environment.
