Rubio Names Aunt Catfish’s on the River of Florida as the Senate Small Business of the Week
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, named Aunt Catfish’s On the River of Port Orange, Florida as the U.S. Senate Small Business of the Week.
Rubio released the following video message to congratulate Aunt Catfish’s on the Riveras the Senate Small Business of the Week. A broadcast quality version can be found here.
“Hello, I’m Senator Marco Rubio, the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
“And today, it is my honor to recognize Aunt Catfish’s On the River of Port Orange, Florida as the Senate Small Business of the Week.
“Jim Galbreath founded Aunt Catfish’s in 1979, following in his mother’s footsteps into the restaurant industry.
“Today, this family-owned small business is run by his son Brandon, who started working there as a teenager.
“Through his service with the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Port Orange COVID-19 Reopening Task Force, Brandon has proven himself to be a tireless advocate for his local small business community.
“Like many of Florida’s small businesses, especially those in the restaurant industry, Aunt Catfish’s experienced a drop in revenue due to the coronavirus shutdowns.
“But the restaurant was approved for a Paycheck Protection Program loan, a small business relief program I was proud to be the author of.
“And as a result, they were able to keep their employees paid while maintaining the highest health and safety standards for their customers.
“So congratulations to the entire team at Aunt Catfish’s On the RIver on being named the Senate Small Business of the Week! “
“I look forward to your continued success and your community leadership!”
