Senator Marco Rubio Announces Staff Changes

Jan 16, 2019 | Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today announced changes to his communications staff in his Senate office.

Olivia Perez-Cubas, who has worked for Rubio since 2013, most recently as communications director, leaves to pursue opportunities outside Congress. Three press secretaries covering Florida, domestic and national policy, and Spanish and foreign policy, will take over her press responsibilities. Nick Iacovella will join the communications team as press secretary for domestic and national issues.

“For the past five years, Olivia has been a key part of the team,” said Rubio. “She was one of the first hires on my presidential campaign, traveled all over Florida with me during my Senate campaign, and ultimately came back to Washington to lead our communications efforts in the Senate. I am grateful for her distinguished service to the United States Senate and the people of Florida, and wish her the very best in her new opportunity.”
