Rubio Applauds New Sanctions Against Maduro-Controlled Bank BANDES and Its Subsidiaries

Miami, FL — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues, issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions against BANDES (Banco de Desarrollo Económico y Social), Venezuela’s national development bank, and its subsidiaries:
 
“President Trump is sending a clear signal to Maduro and his thugs after the wrongful arrest of Roberto Marrero, Interim President Guaidó’s chief of staff. We will never cease working to stop members of the Maduro crime family from enriching themselves at the expense of the Venezuela people and their democracy.”

Miami, FL — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL), Presidente del Subcomité de Relaciones Exteriores para el Hemisferio Occidental, Delincuencia Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, Derechos Humanos y Asuntos Globales de la Mujer, emitió el siguiente comunicado después de que la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC) del Departamento del Tesoro de los Estados Unidos impusiera sanciones contra BANDES (Banco de Desarrollo Económico y Social), el banco nacional de desarrollo de Venezuela y sus subsidiarios:
 
“El presidente Trump está enviandoles una clara señal a Maduro y sus matones después del injusto arresto de Roberto Marrero, jefe de gabinete del Presidente Interino Juan Guaidó. Nunca dejaremos de trabajar para evitar que los miembros de la familia criminal de Maduro se enriquezcan a costa del pueblo de Venezuela y su democracia”.
