As rescue operations, debris removal, and power restoration continue on the ground, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is preparing to push a major disaster supplemental spending measure through Congress. He met with local officials to discuss the situation in Collier County and Everglades City. 

On Friday, Rubio sent a letter to his colleagues on the Senate Committee on Appropriations emphasizing the importance of a “robust and timely federal response…to ensure that sufficient resources are provided to rebuild critical infrastructure and public services capacity, and to assist our fellow Floridians in rebuilding their lives.”

Mientras las operaciones de rescate, los operativos de limpieza de escombros y la restauración de la luz continúan en el terreno, el senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) impulsa una importante medida de gasto suplementario para desastres por parte del Congreso de EE.UU. Rubio se reunió con funcionarios locales para conversar sobre la situación en el Condado Collier y en Everglades City. 

Este pasado viernes, Rubio le envió una carta a sus colegas en el Comité de Asignaciones del Senado enfatizando la importancia de una “respuesta federal robusta y oportuna…para garantizar que se proporcionen los recursos suficientes para reconstruir la infraestructura crítica y la capacidad de los servicios públicos, y para ayudar a nuestros compatriotas de Florida en la reconstrucción de sus vidas”.
