English/Español: Rubio Calls Out Press as Biden Administration Changes COVID Hospitalization Numbers
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a statement after reports that the Biden Administration is considering changes to how COVID-19 hospitalizations are counted. At issue is whether an individual is admitted due to COVID-19 or whether they go to the hospital for unrelated reasons but happen to test positive for COVID-19 once they are admitted.
“During the omicron surge, the media was desperate to paint a picture of chaos across the country,” Rubio said. “As I said at the time, it was pure nonsense because the hospitalization numbers were often distorted. That didn’t stop so-called journalists, Twitter experts, and partisans from going on the attack. It was shameful, and their silence now — when President Biden is making the distinction — reveals just how politicized COVID has become. It is time for the country to get back to normal, just like we have been in Florida for well over a year.”
Washington, D.C.
