English/Español: Rubio, Menendez, Scott Introduce Resolution Honoring the 35th Anniversary of U.S. Broadcasting to Cuba

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and Rick Scott (R-FL) introduced a bipartisan Senate resolution celebrating the thirty-fifth anniversary of Radio and Television Martí, which is administered through the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB). The resolution recognizes “the vital role that independent broadcasting to Cuba has served in providing uncensored, reliable, and accurate information to the Cuban people” and honors the work of the many “journalists, programming editors, technical support, and other employees at Radio and Television Martí” who work tirelessly to provide free and uncensored news in Cuba. 

Rubio is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.

RUBIO, MENÉNDEZ, SCOTT PRESENTAN RESOLUCIÓN EN HONOR AL 35 AVO ANIVERSARIO DE LA OFICINA DE TRANSMISIONES A CUBA
 

Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) junto a los senadores Bob Menéndez (D-NJ) y Rick Scott (R-FL) presentaron una resolución bipartidista en el senado para celebrar el trigésimo quinto aniversario de Radio y Televisión Martí, la cual es administrada por la Oficina de Transmisiones para Cuba (OCB). La resolución reconoce “el rol esencial que la transmisión independiente a Cuba, el cual ha servido para proveer información sin censura, fiable, y precisa al pueblo de Cuba”. La resolución también honra el trabajo de los “periodistas, editores de programación, personal de soporte técnico, y otros empleados de Radio y Televisión Martí” que trabajan arduamente para brindar noticias totalmente gratis y sin censura a Cuba. 

Rubio es el Presidente del Subcomité de Relaciones Exteriores para el Hemisferio Occidental, Delincuencia Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, Derechos Humanos y Asuntos Globales de la Mujer.
