Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and Rick Scott (R-FL) joined Congresswomen Jennifer González-Colón (R-PR) and Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) in introducing a resolution honoring the 65th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army, known as the Borinqueneers, and designating April 13, 2020 as the National Borinqueneers Day. The resolution, which was adopted unanimously today by the Senate, recognizes the bravery, service, and sacrifice of the Puerto Rican soldiers of the 65th Infantry Regiment in the armed conflicts of the United States and expresses deep gratitude for the contributions to the Armed Forces that have been made by hundreds of thousands of patriotic United States citizens from Puerto Rico.
Rubio is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.

Washington, D.C. — Los senadores estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL), Bob Menéndez (D-NJ) y Rick Scott (R-FL) Jennifer González-Colón (R-PR) y Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) presentaron una resolución en honor al 65º Régimen de Infantería del Ejército de los Estados Unidos, conocido como los Borinqueneers, y designaron el 13 de abril de 2020 como el Día Nacional de los Borinqueneers. La resolución, la cual fue aprobada por unanimidad en el Senado, reconoce la valentía, el servicio y el sacrificio de los soldados puertorriqueños del 65º Régimen de Infantería en los conflictos armados de los Estados Unidos y expresa profunda gratitud por las contribuciones que han hecho cientos de miles de patriotas ciudadanos americanos de Puerto Rico al ejército de los Estados Unidos.
Rubio es el Presidente del Subcomité de Relaciones Exteriores para el Hemisferio Occidental, Delincuencia Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, Derechos Humanos y Asuntos Globales de la Mujer.
