Senate Passes Rubio, Smith Resolution to Recognize November as National Lung Cancer Awareness Month
U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Tina Smith (D-MN) applauded the Senate passage of their resolution to designate November 2023 as National Lung Cancer Awareness Month. The resolution recognizes the need for more research to improve early diagnosis, screening, and treatment.
Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) are cosponsors of the resolution.
The resolution is also supported by the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative, LungCAN, The White Ribbon Project, Lung Cancer Foundation of America, GO2 Foundation, American Cancer Society, National Lung Cancer Roundtable, LiveLung, Lungevity, American College of Radiology, American Lung Association, Cancer Support Community, CancerCare, and Citizens for Radioactive Radon Reduction.
