Miami, FL — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released the following statement after President Trump declared a national emergency in response to the coronavirus:
“Today’s national emergency declaration will free up federal resources and provide flexibility for state and local governments to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am in close and regular contact with the Trump Administration and Governor DeSantis to make certain Florida does not experience any shortage in medical equipment, intensive care beds, or ventilators in the event of a significant regional outbreak. In addition, as Chairman of the Senate Small Business Committee, we are making substantial progress on a bipartisan basis to provide assistance to small businesses.”
