Rubio Introduces Bill Requesting U.S. Sanctions on Fentanyl Precursors and Manufacturers

Sep 25, 2024 | Comunicados de Prensa

Due to the Biden-Harris Administration’s disastrous open-border policy, fentanyl has been easily trafficked through our borders and is one of the leading causes of death in America. Foreign entities in Mexico and Communist China, who are manufacturing this deadly drug, should be held accountable.

El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) presentó la ley Fentanyl Reduction Engrained by Economic Deterrence Act to protect Americans.

  • “Ensuring an end to the production of fentanyl is crucial to protecting Americans and our interests. We must start by addressing the origins of this vicious supply chain. This bill is an important step in targeting those involved in facilitating this process. It is my hope that we live to see a country free of fentanyl and be free of the pain it has unfortunately inflicted on so many American families.” – senador Rubio

Specifically, the legislation would:

  • Require the administration to provide a list of explicitly named Chinese entities and officials involved in fentanyl precursor production; and
  • Require the administration, within 60 days of enactment, to either impose sanctions or justify why sanctions should not be imposed.
