With Florida Under State Of Emergency, Rubio Urges Floridians To Plan Ahead For Possible Storms
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement regarding Governor Rick Scott’s state of emergency declaration for Florida in anticipation of Tropical Storm Erika:
“As Tropical Storm Erika continues to develop, I urge all Floridians to remain vigilant of its progress, plan ahead and not wait until the last minute to prepare. In addition to monitoring the news and state officials’ warnings, I encourage people to visit my website at rubio.senate.gov, where we’ve posted some basic information about preparedness. As always, my office stands ready to assist Florida residents before, during and after any storm and will remain in close contact with NOAA, FEMA, the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Coast Guard and other officials to help expedite any assistance that may be required.”
