Marianna, FL – Today, five days after Major Hurricane Michael made landfall, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) surveyed the damage and met with local officials to discuss recovery efforts in Marianna, Florida.
“From destroyed homes, blocked roads and extensive power outages, I saw firsthand the unique challenges that inland communities like Marianna face following Hurricane Michael,” Rubio said. “We must ensure that the federal government is closely coordinating with state and local authorities to direct vital resources to these hard-to-access rural communities, where many were unable to evacuate ahead of the storm.
