Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today praised the unveiling of the POW/MIA (American Prisoners of War/Missing in Action) Chair of Honor in Emancipation Hall of the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC). The National POW/MIA Remembrance Act of 2015, which Rubio co-sponsored with U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), honors service members by placing a special chair in their honor in the U.S. Capitol.
“As the brother of a veteran and from a state with over one million veterans, I know firsthand the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform and their families make to keep our nation safe every single day of the year,” said Rubio. “I am proud to honor the thousands of POW and MIA service members and their families, all who have given so selflessly in service to our nation.”
“Our POWs and MIAs have fought tirelessly so that we may live in peace, and it is our duty to ensure they are never forgotten. The chair that was placed in the U.S. Capitol today will serve as a constant reminder of their bravery and devotion to this great nation,” Rubio added.
