English/ Español: Rubio Blasts Twitter Over Inadequate Action on Dangerous, Fake Chinese Image
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a statement after Twitter labeled a falsified image posted by a Chinese Communist Party bureaucrat as “potentially sensitive content.” The inadequate action came after Rubio wrote to Jack Dorsey, Chief Executive Officer of Twitter, after the company initially failed to remove or label a falsified image posted by a Chinese Communist Party bureaucrat.
“It’s outrageous that when the President of the United States tweets about sending in the national guard to protect cities from rioters, Twitter immediately jumps to silence him for ‘violating terms,’ but when a Chinese government official or Ayatollah Khamenei make threats, it takes a U.S. Senator and a public pressure campaign for them to do anything,” Rubio said. “Labeling this falsified image posted by a Chinese Communist Party bureaucrat as ‘potentially sensitive content’ is absurd. Either Twitter has a double standard for conservatives or they are scared of the Chinese government and Communist Party. In reality, it is probably both. Twitter’s Section 230 lifeline is running on fumes.”
Rubio is Cochair of the bipartisan and bicameral Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC), the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations’ Subcommittee that oversees human rights, and is a member of the Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy.

RUBIO CRITICA A TWITTER POR ACCIÓN INADECUADA SOBRE UNA IMAGEN FALSA Y PELIGROSA POR PARTE DE CHINA
Washington, D.C.
