PHOTOS: Rubio Visits AMIA Museum, Pays Tribute to Fallen Victims and Alberto Nisman
On July 18, 1994, Iranian-backed Hezbollah mercenaries carried out a brutal terrorist attack against the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) Building in Buenos Aires. The hateful terrorist attack killed 85 and injured hundreds of civilians.
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, visited the AMIA museum to pay his respects to the fallen victims. Rubio also commemorated Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was murdered 9 years ago a day before revealing his findings regarding the investigation of this Iranian-backed terrorist attack.
- “This year marks the 30th anniversary of the brutal terrorist attack against the AMIA. I’m humbled to visit this site and commemorate the 85 lives lost, as well as Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman who investigated this brutal attack and paid the ultimate price for simply doing his job. We must continue to advocate for justice and accountability. At a time when antisemitism is on the rise around the world, it is our moral duty to stand in support of the Jewish community.” – senador Rubio
