Rubio Applauds Senate Passage of NASA Authorization Act

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), a member of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, released the following statement today after the Senate unanimously passed the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Authorization Act (S. 3346), which he and five other senators introduced:

“A robust federal space program is critical to America’s leadership and national security, and this bipartisan legislation lays the blueprint for the next generation of America’s space policy and provides NASA with the resources necessary to prepare and launch exciting new missions. A world leader in the aerospace industry, Florida is home to thousands of workers who will benefit from this bill, which will ensure our state remains the launch hub for humanity’s journey deeper into space. I am proud to have worked with my colleagues in introducing this bill, and look forward to advancing our nation’s space program in the next Congress.”

Following his visit to Florida’s Space Coast in August, Rubio and others members of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation introduced the underlying bill in September.
