Rubio Files Amendments to Federal Aviation Bill

May 1, 2024 | Comunicados de Prensa

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) filed two amendments to H.R.3935, the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act, which would reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) until 2028. Current FAA authorities expire on May 10, 2024. Rubio’s amendments would:

  • Codify regulations allowing parents to hold infants and babies under two years of age in their laps on commercial airlines, which would prevent airlines from forcing families to pay for unnecessary seats; and
  • Ensure Florida’s Homestead Air Reserve Base remains a facility used strictly for military missions.
