Rubio Introduces VFW Commander To Present Legislative Agenda To Congress

Mar 5, 2013 | Comunicados de Prensa

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio today introduced Mr. John E. Hamilton, Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, who presented the VFW’s legislative program to the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees. Mr. Hamilton, a resident of St. Augustine, was a life-long resident of Jacksonville and is a decorated Marine Corps veteran who’s been honored by Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush for his outstanding leadership and community service.

“Through his service with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, John Hamilton has performed work that transcends titles or accolades or photos with Presidents,” said Senator Rubio during his introduction. “John and the VFW, as well as other similar organizations, are noble because – through devotion and patient advocacy – they care for those who have cared for America. To put it another way, they’ve got the backs of those who have our backs.”
