Rubio Joins Menendez And Colleagues in Reintroducing Resolution Reaffirming U.S.-Ecuador Partnership
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) joined Senators Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Jim Risch (R-ID), Ranking Member and Chairman, respectively, of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD), Tim Kaine (D-VA), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) in reintroducing a bipartisan Senate resolution (S.Res.22) reaffirming the partnership between the United States and the Republic of Ecuador. The bipartisan resolution recognizes the restoration and advancement of economic relations, security, and development opportunities in both nations. The senators originally introduced this resolution on June 18, 2020, during the 116th Congress.
The bipartisan resolution “reaffirms its commitment to the historic partnership between the United States and Ecuador; and recognizes President Lenin Moreno and his administration for recommitting Ecuador to democratic values, anti-corruption efforts, and the adoption of economic policies that will benefit the people of Ecuador.”
Rubio is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.
