Rubio Reintroduces Bill to Prevent Federal Overreach of Treatment Procurement

Jul 27, 2023 | Comunicados de Prensa

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Biden Administration forced hospitals and healthcare providers to acquire COVID-19 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) from the federal government instead of manufacturers directly. Hospitals and healthcare providers need to be protected from federal government overreach limiting critical medical resources.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) reintroduced the Treatment Restoration for Every American’s Trial (TREAT) Act to prohibit the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from implementing policies that restrict direct access by hospitals and other appropriate healthcare facilities to medical countermeasures.

  • “We cannot let vindictive, politically motivated actions by this administration, or any future administration, jeopardize the health and safety of Floridians and other Americans. My bill would bring back fairness by allowing hospitals and other appropriate healthcare facilities to directly access life-saving treatments from manufacturers.”  – senador Rubio
