Sen. Rubio Responds on Military Aid to Ukraine

…Nearly nine million people have entered this country illegally since Joe Biden became president. For some Americans…, this is cause for celebration. But for many others, especially those seeing their wages undercut or their communities overwhelmed by lawless migrants, this is cause for concern.
Count me among the concerned. Thanks to President Biden’s refusal to enforce Trump-era immigration policies, the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua is taking root in major U.S. cities…. Even migrants unconnected to gangs are draining public resources by competing for scarce housing, jobs and hospital beds.
Last fall I made it clear I would send taxpayer dollars to Ukraine if—and only if—the president began to protect Americans from this invasion. But the president didn’t act…. Meanwhile, Democrats smuggled $3.5 billion for organizations that facilitate illegal immigration into the Israel section of the “Ukraine bill.”
My constituents elected me to represent their interests in Washington. They want to know why 79 members of Congress would send money to defend Ukraine’s border when their own president won’t defend their border. I’m glad I can tell them I wasn’t one of those 79.
