Rubio: Florida Projects Should Stay in Water Bill
Miami, FL – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is urging key House and Senate committee leaders of both parties to retain important Florida projects in the final version of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016, which is likely to be considered for congressional approval before the end of the year. The House passed its version of the bill this past week, after the Senate passed its version September 15.
South Florida leaders have commended Rubio’s leadership and work to restore the Everglades and improve the quality of Florida’s waterways.
“I respectfully request you retain specific provisions that would greatly benefit Florida,” Rubio’s letter to the committee leaders states. “This includes authorization of the Central Everglades Planning Project, a key Everglades restoration project that will improve water quality for our treasured ecosystems.”
