Rubio Secures Provision to Sustain P-8 Fleet at NAS Jacksonville
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) secured a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021 (H.R. 6395) conference report that authorizes additional P-8 aircrafts for the reserve naval wing out of Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville. The Senate is expected to pass the final conference report this week, sending it to the President.
“The operations of the reserve naval wing at NAS Jacksonville are critical to our national security, especially our anti-submarine capability,” Rubio said. “The authorization of additional P-8 aircrafts allows the reserve naval wing to continue to modernize our anti-submarine capability and maintain military readiness. I am proud to have secured this provision that will enhance our operations at NAS Jacksonville and ensure the naval wing is able to keep flying.”
