Sen. Rubio Welcomes Administration Decision To Seek Military Trials For 9/11 Conspirators
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio today issued the following statement on the Obama administration’s decision to seek military trials for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9/11 conspirators:
“After more than two years of debate, President Obama has made the right decision to seek military trials for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the 9/11 conspirators. For far too long, those who planned the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans have sat idly in Guantanamo Bay. Now, as we approach the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, the families who lost loved ones on that terrible day and our country will finally have the justice we have sought.”
In Congress, Senator Rubio is an original co-sponsor of legislation that will prohibit civilian trials of the 9/11 conspirators.
