Two years ago, the illegitimate and criminal Cuban regime repressed and arbitrarily detained peaceful protestors, including minors, who marched the island streets in demand of basic freedoms. 
 
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of this historic event, when Cubans from all walks of life, peacefully marched against a totalitarian and murderous regime. Rubio joined Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and a group of bicameral colleagues, in introducing a resolution honoring the second anniversary of these anti-communist protests.

There is no doubt the criminal Cuban dictatorship fears another peaceful manifestation where the freedom-loving people of Cuba condemn their decade-long human rights violations, ineptitude, lies, and repression. Today, throughout the island, the hymn of Patria y Vida remains alive and strong. Especially amongst a new and younger generation who sees firsthand the realities of a nation taken hostage by a communist government.

Hace dos años, el régimen ilegítimo y criminal de Cuba reprimió y detuvo arbitrariamente a manifestantes pacíficos, incluyendo a menores de edad, que marchaban por las calles de la isla reclamando por sus libertades básicas. 
 
El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) emitió un comunicado en conmemoración del aniversario de este hecho histórico, cuando cubanos de todos los estratos sociales, marcharon pacíficamente en contra de un régimen totalitario y asesino. Rubio se unió al senador Bob Menéndez (D-NJ) y a un grupo de colegas bicamerales para presentar una resolución en honor al segundo aniversario de estas protestas anticomunistas.

• “El 11 de julio del 2021 marcó un antes y un después en la historia moderna de Cuba. No hay duda que la dictadura criminal de Cuba le tiene pánico a otra manifestación pacífica donde el pueblo cubano condene sus décadas de violación de DD.HH., su ineptitud, sus mentiras y la creciente represión en contra del pueblo. Hoy, en toda la isla, el himno de Patria y Vida permanece vivo y. Especialmente entre una nueva generación joven que ve de primera mano las realidades de un país que es rehén de un gobierno comunista.
